Highlights from the past week’s auctions include a number of furniture lots from the recently closed Property from a New Canaan Private Collector presented by Nye and Company in addition to Chinese antiquities which enjoyed another strong week of sales on iGavel. The top five lots achieved over $17,000 after buyer’s premium over 73 bids. These lots include:     Set of Six Chinese Floral Paintings Mounted as Scrolls, Color Inks on Silk, 20th Century; a Provincial Style Pearwood Refrectory Table, 20th C.; a Anglesey Paint-Decorated Oak Welsh Cupboard, English, Early 19th C.; Two Weatherend Estate Furniture White Painted Settees, Maine, 20th C.; and Three Chinese Porcelain Baluster Vases, Modern and Earlier.

Set of Six Chinese Floral Paintings Mounted as Scrolls, Color Inks on Silk, 20th Century - This set of naturalistic Chinese floral paintings sold for $ 4,320 after buyer’s premium on nine bids.

Provincial Style Pearwood Refectory Table, 20th C., - This pearwood refectory table more than doubled its high estimate of $1,500, ultimately achieving $ 3,960 after 22 bids. Buyers showed their enthusiasm for the piece through last minute bidding, extending the lot into overtime by six minutes and 56 seconds.

Anglesey Paint-Decorated Oak Welsh Cupboard, English, Early 19th C., - This cupboard sold for $ 3,120 after buyer’s premium on 19 bids. The lot was extended by seven minutes and 29 seconds, reflecting a strong interest in the latest Nye & Company sale.

Two Weatherend Estate Furniture White Painted Settees, Maine, 20th C. – These lovely white Weatherend Estate Furniture Settees sold for $ 2,880 after buyer’s premium on nine bids.

Three Chinese Porcelain Baluster Vases, Modern and Earlier  – This set of Chinese porcelain baluster vases shattered its high auction estimate of $800 by a magnitude of four. After 14 bids and two minutes 43 seconds of extended bidding, the lot closed at $ 2,761.20 after buyer’s premium.
