Nye & Company has added four additional fine art lots to their August Fine and Decorative Arts Auction. These lots are a preview for a consignment of a private collection of fine art that will be featured in their upcoming September auction.

One painting is an oil on canvas by Eugene Verboeckhoven (Dutch, 1799-1881), depicting a field of sheep. Verboeckhoven was a prolific artist, who specialized in realistic paintings of sheep, cows, and other livestock. It is estimated at $6,000-$9,000.

Oil on Board, Angelus de Baets (Evergem 1793-1855 Gand), Cathedral Interior

Another painting is a finely detailed oil on board of a cathedral interior, painted by Angelus de Baets (1793-1855), another Dutch artist. This is a fine example of his favorite subject, an it is estimated at $2,000-$3,000.

Silver Metal Mounted Icon on Board, Russian, 18th C

We also have a large silver metal Russian icon on board. Depicting the mother and child in typical Russian fashion, this icon is 26″ x 20″w and is estimated at $3,000-$5,000.

Oil on Board, The Milk Maid, Unsigned, 20th C

Finally, we have an unsigned oil on board of a milk maid. This finely painted work is mounted in a detailed gilt frame, and would be aesthetically pleasing on any wall in your home.
