After a successful 2011, Nye and Company has relocated to a new and expanded location at 20 Beach Street in Bloomfield, NJ (just minutes from the Garden State Parkway and 20 minutes from New York City. "It is extremely exciting and encouraging to have finally found a building that is the perfect fit," said John Nye. The new building (previously Castleton Furniture) provides Nye and Co with 25,000 square feet of warehouse and office space, easy access for patrons and ample parking. Joining us at the new location are All Wrapped Up and Movin_ On Up, offering a full range of packing and moving services. The next auction will begin on April 3rd and continue through April 17th on igavelauctions.com. The April auction will feature a continuation of our sale of the estate of Andreas (Andy) Albeck (former Chairman and C.E.O. of United Artists), which includes an array of Asian furniture and works of art. Additionally we will be auctioning a collection of fine jewelry from a private New Jersey collection. Items will be available for preview at the new Nye and Company location during these same dates. This auction features Asian and Ethnographic art from the Collection of Ron Krannich that he amassed over the last 35 years. As a travel writer he spanned the globe, and as a collector he purchased items he was passionate about along the way.
Other highlights in the auction include American, English and French 18th and 19th century furniture and decorations, the steel sculpture featured above by Ernest Trova, a bronze of Cupid and Psyche by Eugene-Ernest Chretien, a 16th century portrait of Virgin and Child from the Circle of Pieter Coecke van Aelst, several works by Savannah artists Myrtle Jones, Christopher Murphy Jr. and Sr., Hattie Saussy and others.
