A retired scientist administrator for the National Institutes of Health, he enjoyed his retirement by pursuing his passions for Chinese porcelain and Neoclassical furniture and bronzes. Entering George's house was like going on the 'Grand Tour' of Europe, as many Americans did in the 19th century. It was a treasure trove of bronzes made after the Antique combined with Biedermeier and Neoclassical furniture.
